What is a vector Quantity ?
Any Physical quantity which has both magnitude and direction, such as velocity, acceleration or force, are called vector quantity.
A vector represented either geometrically by an arrow whose length corresponds to it's magnitude and the point shows it's direction.
A free vector has magnitude and direction but no fixed position in space.
Examples for Vectors:
Displacement,Velocity, Acceleration, Force, Momentum, Gravitational force,Torque, Energy, Electric field, magnetic field etc.
Notation and it's application:
If 'v' represents a vector, the magnitude of this vector is represented as mod(v)
Vectors are useful to indicate position in the space with direction and magnitude.
