What is a tensor? (Examples,Definition, Difference between vector and Tensor)

What is a tensor?

Tensors in general can be considered as a multidimensional array of numbers, which are known as its "scalar components" or simply "components." The entries of such an array are symbolically denoted by the name of the tensor with indices giving the position in the array. The total number of indices is equal to the dimension of the array and is called the order or the rank of the tensor.

Where as vector has direction and magnitude.
Examples:

Stress, strain, Conductivity are few examples for tensors.
